Privacy policy
A clear explanation of how your information is handled.
Last updated 29 October 2026Who is responsible?
Neil Richardson, operating as Neil Richardson Consulting, is responsible for personal information handled in connection with this website and business enquiries. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact Neil and mark your message “Privacy request”.
Information you provide
The contact form asks for your name, email address, optional business name, service interest and message. When you select Send message, these details are securely submitted to this website’s server and sent to Neil by email using Resend, managed through Unicorn Road’s delivery account. No separate contact-form database is maintained. Your enquiry is processed by the hosting and email providers and retained in email correspondence. Please avoid including sensitive personal information.
If you send an enquiry, the information in your email and subsequent correspondence is used to respond, discuss your requirements and, where agreed, provide consulting services. Providing information is voluntary, but Neil needs enough contact details and context to answer your enquiry.
Why information is used
Information needed to discuss or deliver a contract with you is processed to take steps at your request before entering a contract, or to perform that contract. Business contact information and general correspondence may be processed on the basis of legitimate interests in answering enquiries, managing professional relationships and keeping the website secure. Records required for tax, accounting or other statutory duties are processed to meet legal obligations.
This website does not make automated decisions about you or carry out advertising profiling.
Website and device information
Vercel hosts this website and may process technical request information such as IP addresses, browser information, requested pages and security logs to deliver and protect the service. Fonts and site imagery are hosted with the website. No advertising or visitor analytics tools are currently installed. Your cookie choice is stored on your device, as explained in the cookie policy.
Sharing and international processing
Information may be handled by service providers needed to operate the business, including Vercel for website hosting, Resend for email delivery, Unicorn Road for website support and email-delivery administration, Neil’s mailbox provider, and professional advisers where necessary. Information may also be disclosed where required by law. Personal information is not sold.
Some providers operate internationally. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, applicable data protection requirements must be met through an adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual safeguards. You can contact Neil for information about providers and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
How long information is kept
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed to answer the enquiry, manage an ongoing business relationship or address a related dispute. Client and financial records may need to be retained longer to meet contractual and legal requirements. Information should be deleted when those purposes no longer apply. Your on-device consent record expires after six months.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of or portability of your personal information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Use the contact page to raise a request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator.
